Our name, Black Duck®, is derived from ‘cotton duck,’ a term used by both the military and farmers to describe canvas fabric that repels water as effortlessly as a duck’s back. Coincidentally, the Pacific Black Duck—Australia’s most common duck—became the perfect emblem for our brand, symbolising resilience and adaptability.
